DUNAJEC RIVER GORGE RAFTING FROM KRAKOW

The Dunajec River Gorge runs through one of the most beautiful places in Poland - a small rocky mountain range, Pieniny, 120km south-east of Krakow.

This breathtaking gorge is featured on UNESCO's Tentative List of World Heritage Sites and together with the stunning architecture of castles, charming country houses and wooden churches it is a major tourist attraction and a true highlight of the Pieniny region.

Wooden canoe trips have been organized there by local highlanders since the early 19th century.
Our raft begins in Sromowce Nizne and ends in Szczawnica. It takes about 18km and 2-3 hours (depending on the water level in the river) of admiring the picturesque countryside scenery, a rich world of limestone rock formations and a varied fauna and flora. It is completely safe as the river is just slightly over 1m deep and there is a guide with a pole on every raft.

Afterwards you can take a glimpse of the beautiful and peaceful mountain health resort, Szczawnica with its unique wooden architecture.

On the way back you will have the opportunity to admire the beautiful medieval castle in Niedzica and the wooden Gothic country church in Debno which was entered on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

Tour Duration: between 8 and 12 hours. You can choose the most suitable departure time for you as it's a private tour, but because of the tour length early morning is suggested.
